What Is the Air Source Heat Pump?
Air source heat pump is a device that transfers a large amount of heat contained in the air to the space requiring heat by consuming a small part of electric energy. ① :When the refrigerant temperature is lower than the ambient temperature, heat is transferred from the air flowing through the air side heat exchanger to the refrigerant. The refrigerant evaporates.
② :When the refrigerant vapor passes through the compressor, refrigerant pressure increases and temperature rises above.
③ :As the hot vapor refrigerant passes through the water side heat exchanger, it heats the water in the hydronic system, which is then pumped indoor to the space heating terminals or hot water tank. The refrigerant cools and condenses and returns to the expansion valve to start the cycle again.
④ :As the refrigerant passes through the expansion valve and expands, its temperature and pressure both drop.
